My favorite place for drinks in Carcassonne. A neighborhood gem of a meeting place!

Traditional French style cafe, full of traditional behaving people - even reading newspapers. Great atmosphere.

Fantastic, vibrant bar, great staff, great food. Amazing location and the Thursday evening drinks and cheese night was sensational!

It doesn’t look like much from the outside, we nearly walked right past, but Cafe Saillan was a great find! It’s a cosy, super authentic spot in Carcassone that was filled with locals.We walked in as they were finishing serving lunch, but they were happy to squeeze us in and serve us. We had two delicious meals that were super generous portions and full of flavour.The prices here were almost half the price of other eateries we walked past in Carcassone and we feel like Cafe Saillan was great value for money.Recommend if you’re after an authentic French meal on your trip to Carcassone.

Australians looking for an acceptable coffee in Carcassonne go no further. It will never be as good as home without fresh milk but it's the next best thing.

Date of visit: 9 june 2023- - - -We found this place by searching google maps for a coffee place to have a drink.Once we arrived, we saw that the "terrace" on the street side was occupied, all the 4 tables, so we decided to sit inside instead of outside.The temperature inside was pleasantly warm and there was a television that was on, so you also had some distraction/background music.When I asked if it was possible to pay by card, when ordering 2 large coffees, this was no problem for the owner / employee in the business. Normally they don't like card payments for lower amounts, but the employee or owner wanted to do this for us anyway, because we didn't have any cash on us.This was a nice gesture from the owner.The coffees were tasty and the atmosphere was pleasant inside.There was 1 toilet, but this was very well maintained.Well worth a visit!

Great atmosphere on a Saturday at lunch time. Coffee is good and we had the charcuterie outside.
